Christmas is over and the new year has begun. Just have to get through January and it won’t be long before it warms up again and things begin to blossom.

Folks who come to HerbFest often say I would love to try more herbs, but I just don’t have the room. I came across an article about using an old wood pallet as a “container garden.” Here’s How-To: Turn a Pallet Into a Vertical Garden.

If doesn’t click through then copy and paste this into url below or try clicking on it.

http://www.curbly.com/users/capreek/posts/10175-how-to-turn-a-pallet-into-a-vertical-garden.

What a great way to recycle!

Milton Ganyard talks about beneficial insects.

Includes photos, so you can find these in your garden and give them extra love.

Beneficial Insects for Your Garden

These bugs are the good guys, when it comes to gardening and protecting your plants. This is a great video for learning about which insects actually help your garden. Instead of spraying your garden with some harmful pesticide, why not let some beneficial insects do the job for you? If you treat them well, they may just stick around for years to come!

In part 1 here he covers

Convergent lady beetle

Assassin bugs

Golden eyed lacewing

Earwigs

In many cases it’s the larvae of the insects that eat up the harmful insects. Stay tuned for part 2.
