Hilu’s Response on Oktoberfest origin

Good morning, Bob,

It’s fun to make use of every Fest! I believe in having fun in a world in which work takes so much time of your day. I am German through and through that way:-))

When one of my father’s employees wanted a day of because of a wine fest, he used to say, “If you can party all night, you can also work all day.” They would still get the day off, if it was possible.
I like to turn this around and claim, “If you can work all day, you can also party…. …as long as you can.”

Partying, dancing and singing, also drinking is fun when the towns and villages get together for their fest.

And then there are:
All women breakfasts
Carneval
Men meetings (in a pub)
country women (or / men) lunches…
Advent fun in front of (a little) town hall
Christmas markets on weekends…

And still, people work in Germany too. :) )
Unless they are unemployed, which is NO fun in Germany!!!

Thanks for the information, which was new to me. I have never been to the original Oktoberfest in Munich. In Worms, we have the Backfischfest. Nine tough days when you’re young and you don’t want to miss a day!!! I used to be one of them! Long ago!!!

Check it out here.

Seize the day….it is sunny here in Maine…no warm, but not as freezing as it has been!
It’s a great day!
Hilu
